Steel Exchange India Records Highest-Ever Re-Bar Output in August 2026

Steel Exchange India Limited recorded its highest-ever monthly Re-Bar production since inception in August 2026. Production at its Rolling Mill stood at 24,823.509 metric tonnes (MT), according to an exchange filing dated September 4, 2026.
The company attributed the record output to the commissioning and operationalisation of its Reheating Furnace (RHF). The furnace added to the existing production facilities and supported higher utilisation of the Rolling Mill during the month.
Production Split
The Continuous Casting Machine (CCM) produced 17,358.221 MT in August, while the newly operational RHF contributed 7,465.288 MT. The two facilities together accounted for the total Re-Bar production of 24,823.509 MT.
The company said the RHF has raised its monthly Re-Bar production capability by approximately 27%. It expects the increased production capability to continue following the furnace’s operationalisation.
RHF Operations
The RHF contributed 7,465.288 MT of Re-Bar production in August. Steel Exchange India said the facility is expected to support higher production capacity, capacity utilisation and operational efficiency as it continues to operate.
The company said it is working towards improving capacity utilisation and reaching the full potential of its available capacities.
In management comments included in the release, the company stated that the RHF had increased monthly production capacity by approximately 43% and contributed to the August record.
Steel Exchange India Profile
Steel Exchange India, part of the Vizag Profiles Group, manufactures TMT rebars under the SIMHADRI TMT brand. Founded in 1999, it operates an integrated steel plant and power unit in Vizianagaram district near Visakhapatnam.
Its facilities include sponge iron, billet, rolling mill and power generation capacities. The company has also stated that it is diversifying into specialty steels under the PLI scheme.

As of September 4, 2026, 1:39 pm, Steel Exchange India share price was trading at ₹11.25, a 0.53% increase from the previous closing price.
