NSE Share Price in Focus; Receives SEBI NOC to Introduce Corporate Bond Index Futures

The National Stock Exchange (NSE) has received a No Objection Certificate from SEBI for introducing Corporate Bond Index Futures. The proposed contracts will give market participants another way to manage risk in the corporate bond market.
As per the exchange filings, the product is also aimed at supporting hedging and price discovery in corporate bonds. However, NSE will still need the required approval from the Reserve Bank of India before introducing the contracts.
New Futures Contracts for Corporate Bonds
Corporate Bond Index Futures will be traded on an exchange and will allow market participants to manage risks linked to their corporate bond portfolios.
NSE said the contracts can be used for portfolio hedging and price discovery. They may also help market makers manage the risks that come with holding corporate bonds.
RBI Approval Still Required
While SEBI has given its NOC, the launch of the product is still subject to the required approval from the Reserve Bank of India.
NSE said the proposed product is part of its efforts to expand the range of exchange-traded risk management products and develop India's fixed income market.
NSE Looking to Expand Debt Market Products
The exchange said a corporate bond derivatives market can help participants transfer risk and support greater participation from institutions.
The proposed futures contracts are expected to add another tool for participants dealing with corporate bond portfolios.
NSE Share Price Performance
As of 01 October 2026, at 3:08 PM, NSE share price is trading at ₹1,744.50 per share, reflecting a decline of 1.05% from the previous trading session.
Conclusion
NSE has received SEBI's NOC for introducing Corporate Bond Index Futures, but the product cannot be launched until the required RBI approval is received. The contracts are planned as a tool for managing corporate bond risk, hedging portfolios and helping with price discovery in India's corporate bond market.
