KEI Industries, Polycab, RR Kabel Share Price Fall as UltraTech Enters Wires and Cables Market With Ultravolt

Wire and cable stocks came under selling pressure on September 4, 2026, after UltraTech Cement launched its Ultravolt business, as per an Economic Times news report. KEI Industries, Polycab India, and RR Kabel were among the stocks that fell during morning trade.
UltraTech Cement announced the launch of Ultravolt through an exchange filing dated September 3, 2026.
KEI Industries, Polycab Share Price Declines
KEI Industries share price declined 6.35% to ₹4,989 after touching ₹4,848.50. Polycab India share price fell 3.75% to ₹8,477.50, while RR Kabel share price was down 3.43% at ₹2,528.
V-Marc India share price dropped 5.94% to ₹328. Finolex Cables share price declined 1.98% to ₹1,238.90 and Universal Cables share price slipped 0.66% to ₹1,616.10. Havells India share price fell 2.7% to ₹1,167.
Ultravolt Starts with Wires, Low-Tension Cables
Ultravolt has been launched under UltraTech Cement with an investment of ₹1,800 crore. The business will initially focus on wires and low-tension cables, with manufacturing based at UltraTech’s Jhagadia facility in Gujarat.
UltraTech has noted that the business will be the second-largest player in the wires segment by capacity at launch. Its current installed capacity is around 1 million km, with plans to raise this to 3.5-4 million km.
Company Targets One Lakh Retailers
The business will be rolled out across more than 500 districts and 6,000 pin codes. UltraTech plans to reach more than one lakh retailers and use over 5,000 UltraTech Building Solutions outlets and more than 20 warehouses.
The launch comes about 18 months after the Aditya Birla Group announced its plans to enter the sector. It is the group’s fourth new business entry in three years, after paints, B2B e-commerce and jewellery retail.
UltraTech Cement Share Price Performance
As of September 4, 2026, at 1:49 pm, UltraTech Cement share price was trading at ₹11,342.00, a 0.59% increase from the previous closing price.
