Jio Financial Services Share Price in Focus as Q2FY27 Profit Falls 51%

Jio Financial Services earned more revenue in the September quarter but ended up with much lower profits than a year ago. Its consolidated net profit fell to ₹340.44 crore from ₹695.04 crore, even as revenue from operations climbed from ₹981.39 crore to ₹1,699.28 crore.
The numbers show a mixed quarter for the company, with its lending business improving while the investing segment saw a sharp fall in profit.
Higher Finance Costs Weigh on Profit
One of the biggest changes was the rise in expenses. Total expenses increased to ₹1,166.07 crore from ₹436.50 crore in the September 2025 quarter. Finance costs alone rose to ₹577.73 crore, compared with ₹135.82 crore a year earlier.
Profit before tax dropped to ₹489.46 crore from ₹783.07 crore. The company also reported a ₹43.88 crore loss from its associates and joint ventures, against a profit contribution of ₹217.17 crore in the same quarter last year.
Lending Business Improves, Investing Profit Falls
The lending business delivered better numbers. Revenue from the segment rose to ₹920.36 crore from ₹301.08 crore, while its profit after tax increased to ₹147.90 crore from ₹75.68 crore.
The investing segment moved in the opposite direction. Its revenue fell to ₹521.42 crore from ₹727.86 crore, and profit after tax dropped to ₹238.70 crore from ₹651.26 crore. That decline was a major factor behind the lower overall profit.

Jio Financial Services Share Price Performance
As of October 16, 2026, at 2:11 PM, Jio Financial Services share price was trading at ₹216.43 per share, reflecting a 1.20% decline from the previous trading session.
Conclusion
Jio Financial Services had a contrasting September quarter. Revenue rose and lending profits improved, but higher expenses and a steep fall in investing profit dragged down the overall result. The next quarters will show whether the growth in lending can offset the pressure on earnings from the investing business and rising costs.
