Vedanta Rebrands Copper and Nickel Businesses as Vedanta Copper and Vedanta Nickel

As per the PTI news report, Vedanta Ltd has renamed its copper and nickel businesses as Vedanta Copper and Vedanta Nickel. This is part of the company's Vedanta 2.0 restructuring exercise.
The new identities will be introduced in phases across business operations and other stakeholder-facing platforms, while both businesses will continue to operate under Vedanta Ltd.
Copper Operations Combined Under One Brand
The company said all its copper assets will now come under the Vedanta Copper name. These include Sterlite Copper, Fujairah Gold, and Vedanta Copper International (VCI).
VCI will serve as the international arm of the copper business and will cover the company's operations in Fujairah and Saudi Arabia.
Production Capacity Expansion Planned
Vedanta has also shared production targets for the two businesses. Vedanta Copper is aiming for a capacity of 460 kilo tonnes per annum (KTPA) by the end of next year.
Vedanta Nickel plans to increase its output to 60 KTPA from the current 7 KTPA, according to the company.
Nickel Unit to Focus on Domestic Market
The company's nickel business, earlier known as Vedanta Nico, has been renamed Vedanta Nickel.
Vedanta said the business will focus on building a domestic nickel ecosystem and meeting the country's growing requirement for critical minerals.
The reorganisation also brings the company's nickel operations under a single business identity.
