Union Budget 2026: Are Indian Stock Market Open Today?

The Union Budget 2026 for the financial year 2026–27 (FY27) is scheduled to be presented today, February 1, 2026. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will table the Budget at 11:00 AM IST, marking her 9th consecutive Budget presentation, a historic milestone.
NSE and BSE to Function Normally
Market participants need not worry about trading halts on Budget Day. Both the BSE and NSE will operate according to their regular schedule. The pre-open session will take place from 9:00 AM to 9:15 AM, followed by normal trading hours that will continue until 3:30 PM.
Commodity Markets to Stay Open
Commodity trading will also proceed without interruption. The Multi-Commodity Exchange (MCX) has made special arrangements to ensure smooth operations. Trading in commodity contracts will be available from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, in line with standard market hours.

The special trading arrangement allows investors to respond instantly to Budget-related announcements, helping them make timely and well-informed decisions as proceedings unfold in Parliament.
