Reliance Retail Ventures Names Former Flipkart Executive Jeyandran Venugopal as President & CEO

Reliance Retail Ventures Ltd (RRVL) has appointed Jeyandran Venugopal as its President and Chief Executive Officer, a role introduced as the company reshapes its top management structure, as per news reports.
In an internal note, Isha Ambani said Venugopal will work with her and the leadership team, with overall guidance from Mukesh Ambani and Manoj Modi.
Move from Flipkart
Venugopal joins from Flipkart, where he spent more than six years and most recently served as Chief Product and Technology Officer. His responsibilities covered product, engineering, design, data science, IT, security, and infrastructure.
He also oversaw customer growth, central revenue functions, marketing, monetisation projects and Flipkart’s commerce cloud and externalisation business.
Previous Stints Across E-commerce
Before Flipkart, he worked as CPTO at Myntra and Jabong, leading product and engineering teams through phases of expansion and operational changes.
His earlier roles at Yahoo and Amazon Web Services involved work on technology and commerce platforms used on a global scale.
Mandate at RRVL
At Reliance Retail, Venugopal is expected to focus on strengthening the company’s broad retail portfolio and supporting the shift towards wider omni-channel operations.
As per news reports, his remit includes improving technology-led processes across the value chain as the retailer continues to expand its footprint. He brings more than 25 years of experience across retail, e-commerce, and technology.
Organisational Structure
The appointment adds to RRVL’s senior leadership bench. Venugopal will work alongside existing leaders, while V Subramaniam continues as Managing Director of Reliance Retail Ltd, which oversees operational functions for the group’s retail businesses.
