Reliance Consumer Products Expands Independence Biscuit Range With 28 New SKUs, Nine Variants

Reliance Consumer Products Ltd (RCPL) is expanding its Independence biscuit range with nine variants and 28 new stock-keeping units (SKUs), as per The Economic Times report. The products will enter the Tamil Nadu market from November 2, 2026, before being rolled out in other markets.
The expansion comes as the company looks to build its presence in the biscuit segment through affordable pricing and a wider selection of products.
Power Up Adds a New Offering to the Range
One of the products in the expanded portfolio is Independence Power Up. It brings together milk, glucose, and protein in a single biscuit, targeting the everyday biscuit category.
RCPL Director T Krishnakumar said Tamil Nadu remains an important market for the business. He added that the company is looking to expand its range in line with changing consumer preferences while building scale.
Tamil Nadu to Lead the Expansion
RCPL expects increased production capacity to support the wider rollout and help it reach more consumers in the state.
The company will use its association with Ajith Kumar Racing to build visibility for the Power Up launch and increase consumer awareness in Tamil Nadu.
The products will be sold through general trade, modern retail outlets, e-commerce, Reliance Retail, and wholesale channels.
Independence and Maliban Have Different Roles
RCPL is building its biscuit business around two brands with different market positions.
Independence will focus on expanding through everyday and indulgent products, while Maliban will bring its expertise in premium biscuit offerings.
Maliban is RCPL's joint venture partner and a leading biscuit maker from Sri Lanka. The company says this approach will help it cater to different consumer preferences and consumption occasions.
