Nifty 50 Index Slips Below 23,400 Mark in Intraday Trade on September 15, 2026

The Nifty 50 Index opened the September 15, 2026, session with a positive bias and registered an intraday high of 23,592.85 soon after opening. The index later touched an intraday low of 23,311.55.

The Nifty 50 index opened above its previous close at the 23,576.15 level and registered an intraday high of 23,592.85.  

As the session progressed, continuous selling pressure emerged, dragging the index down by over 80 points from its previous close to touch an intraday low of 23,311.55.  

At 12:19 PM, the index was trading at 23,328.35, down by 69.75 points or 0.30% on September 15, 2026. 

Advance Decline Ratio of Nifty 50 Index 

The market breadth of Nifty 50 remained weak during the afternoon session on September 15, 2026, as buying interest was highly selective, leaving only 14 constituents in the green, while key heavyweights across major sectors faced notable selling pressure and the remaining 36 stocks traded in the red. 

Top Gainers and Losers of Nifty 50 Index on September 15, 2026 

The market index recorded mixed movements across its major constituents during the session. Among the gainers, HCL Technologies (HCLTECH) led the positive traction with a Last Traded Price (LTP) of 1,276.30, gaining 70.20 points (+5.82%).  

It was followed by Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), which rose by 109.80 points (+4.99%) to an LTP of 2,310.60.  

Infosys (INFY) maintained a strong positive bias, trading at an LTP of 1,083.00 with a value increase of 45.30 points (+4.37%), while Tech Mahindra (TECHM) rounded out the top gainers at an LTP of 1,601.70, ticking up by 60.70 points (+3.94%). 

Conversely, severe selling pressure was observed among the top losers evaluated strictly by percentage drop from the data sheet. Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) dropped the sharpest in percentage terms, falling by 14.55 points (-3.60%) to an LTP of 389.80.  

Shriram Finance (SHRIRAMFIN) also faced notable corrections, shedding 36.10 points (-3.51%) to reach an LTP of 992.50.  

Grasim Industries (GRASIM) lost value, decreasing by 87.30 points (-2.66%) to trade at an LTP of 3,194.60, while Titan Company (TITAN) slid by 114.50 points (-2.29%) to cross an LTP of 4,895.00.

Conclusion 

On Tuesday, September 15, 2026, the Nifty 50 Index traded with minor losses of 0.30% by afternoon. Despite major recovery attempts by top IT constituents like HCL Technologies and TCS, the overall market sentiment remained weak, heavily weighted down by top defense, financial, and cement constituents.
