Nifty 50 Above 26,100: Gains Led by IT Stocks and Optimism on Fed Rate-Cut Hopes

The equity benchmark index, Nifty 50 saw modest gains in early trade, with the Nifty holding above the 26,100. IT stocks led the upward movement after slipping over the past two sessions, boosted by optimism surrounding potential Fed rate cuts.
Nifty IT Index on Gains
Market breadth tilted negative, with 1,557 shares advancing against 2,193 declines on the BSE, while 192 stocks remained unchanged. The Nifty IT index jumped 1.50% to 37,437.10, bouncing back after a 0.43% decline over the previous two sessions.
By 10:30 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex climbed 157.14 points, or 0.18%, to 85,389.06, while the Nifty 50 rose 57.80 points, or 0.23%, to 26,127.25. In the broader market, the S&P BSE Mid-Cap index gained 0.21%, whereas the S&P BSE Small-Cap index slipped 0.41%.

Stocks in Focus
- H.G. Infra Engineering surged 3.19% after being named the L1 bidder, alongside Kalpataru Projects International, for a major metro infrastructure project awarded by Maharashtra Metro Rail Corporation (MMRCL) in Thane.
- Lupin slipped 1.41% after the company reported that the U.S. FDA conducted an inspection of its Goa manufacturing facility from 10 to 21 November 2025.
