L&T Wins NPCIL Order for Kudankulam Nuclear Project

Larsen & Toubro’s (L&T) Heavy Civil Infrastructure (HCI) business vertical has secured a major order from the Nuclear Power Corporation of India Ltd (NPCIL) for the 2x1000 MWe Kudankulam Nuclear Power Project (KKNPP Units 5 & 6) in Tamil Nadu.

Scope of the Project
The contract covers the mechanical package for the project, which includes:
- Installation of the nuclear reactor and turbine systems (with generator and condenser)
- Development of sea water systems
- Installation of polar and trestle cranes
- Accessories, piping, supports, and structural steelwork
- Protective works such as painting, anti-corrosion coating, and insulation
- Full testing across multiple buildings and structures within the site
