Larsen & Toubro has expanded its digital infrastructure ambitions through its data centre arm L&T Vyoma by signing an agreement with the Government of Gujarat to explore a large-scale green hyperscale data centre project at Dholera. The development was announced during the India AI Impact Summit 2026.
₹25,000 Crore Green AI Campus At Dholera
The Memorandum of Understanding was signed between L&T Vyoma and Gujarat’s Department of Science & Technology for a proposed 250 MW green AI-ready hyperscale data centre campus at Dholera Special Investment Region. The project carries a proposed investment of ₹25,000 crore.
Gujarat Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghavi described the move as a major advancement in AI infrastructure, stating that it strengthens Gujarat’s position as a destination for AI, cloud computing and sustainable digital infrastructure.
The facility is designed to support next-generation AI workloads while integrating green energy principles into hyperscale operations.
Sovereign Cloud and Nvidia AI Factory Expansion
Ahead of the announcement, L&T Vyoma introduced its Sovereign Cloud Platform, positioned as an AI-first cloud ecosystem aimed at enterprises and public sector institutions seeking secure and sovereign infrastructure for AI deployment.
In parallel, L&T unveiled a joint venture with Nvidia to develop a sovereign, scalable gigawatt-scale AI factory under the IndiaAI Mission. The plan includes scaling Nvidia GPU clusters to 30 MW capacity at L&T’s Chennai data centre within a 300-acre scalable campus, along with a new 40 MW data centre currently under execution in Mumbai.
The AI factory will combine Nvidia’s GPUs, CPUs, networking systems, storage platforms and AI enterprise software stack with L&T’s engineering and infrastructure capabilities. The initiative aims to provide production-grade AI capacity for enterprises, policymakers and global off-takers across sectors such as manufacturing, energy, financial services, healthcare and public services.
