Projects Worth Over ₹435 Crore Launched in Deoria, Gorakhpur by Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath

As per an Economic Times news report, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Saturday inaugurated and laid foundation stones for development and public welfare projects worth over ₹435 crore in Deoria and Gorakhpur.
The projects include works in the Salempur and Bhatpar Rani Assembly constituencies of Deoria and several urban areas of Gorakhpur.
Deoria Accounts for ₹305 Crore
In Deoria, 80 development projects worth ₹305 crore were inaugurated or had their foundation stones laid. The projects are spread across the Salempur and Bhatpar Rani Assembly constituencies.
Adityanath referred to the programme in a post on X, where he said development and public welfare work was being undertaken in the region.
170 Projects in Gorakhpur
In Gorakhpur, 170 projects with a combined cost of over ₹130 crore were inaugurated or launched. These works are located across different urban parts of the district.
The Chief Minister also dedicated the Kalyan Mandapam at Basharatpur in Rapti Nagar for public service during the programme.
Recent Welfare Scheme for Women
The announcements came days after Adityanath launched the Lokmata Ahilyabai Matrushakti Yatra scheme in Lucknow and flagged off buses under the initiative.
The scheme provides free bus travel to women aged 60 years and above. The Chief Minister said the measure was intended to make travel easier for older women.
Free Travel Announcement on Raksha Bandhan
Separately, Adityanath said mothers, sisters and daughters would be allowed free bus travel on Raksha Bandhan along with one accompanying person.
The Lokmata Ahilyabai Matrushakti Yatra scheme has been named after Ahilyabai Holkar, who was referred to by the Chief Minister while outlining the government's approach to women's welfare.
Government's Policy Focus
At the Lucknow event, Adityanath said the government had prepared an action plan covering women's education, employment, entrepreneurship, safety and dignity.
The measures were to bring women within the scope of various government schemes at different stages, including education and employment.
