PM CARES Fund Corpus Rises to Record ₹8,452 Crore in 2024-25

The PM CARES Fund's money went up during 2024-25. The fund had ₹8,452 crore at the end of the year, compared with ₹7,173 crore a year before, as per news reports.

Around ₹6,641 crore of the PM CARES Fund was kept in fixed deposits during 2024-25.
These fixed deposits earned around ₹475 crore in interest during the year. This gave the fund additional income from the money it already had.
The money does not have to be used immediately, so keeping it in fixed deposits allows the fund to earn interest while keeping the amount as part of its overall corpus.
The PM CARES Fund has got ₹475 crore by domestic donations during 2024-25.

The PM CARES Fund can be used when the government needs money to deal with a crisis or emergency.
With ₹8,452 crore in the corpus, the fund now has a larger reserve. At the same time, the ₹6,641 crore kept in fixed deposits earned interest during the year.
